Kingdom Project strives to be a tangible expression of God’s love through acts of compassion, and sharing the Good News of Jesus though word and deed. While various types of effective compassion are endless here are a few examples of outreaches we offer in our community:
Weekly street outreach in the French Quarter
Each week we have a team of volunteers that go out to the streets of New Orleans. We bring food, water, snacks, socks, and clothing to the needy and homeless. We offer them prayer, a listening ear, and love. Through this simple act of being the gospel in action we have seen lives transformed, bodies healed, and homeless men and women reunited to their families and society.
Nursing home visits
There is nothing as sweet, as seeing the smile on the face of the elderly when we come to visit! We put together goodie bags for them (Crossword puzzles are a big hit), and we go room to room and deliver their goodie bag, visit with them , and offer prayer and encouragement to them.
No life is beyond the reach of God’s power! We are reaching out to men and women behind bars with the gospel to transform lives, so that once released from prison they will be disciples of Jesus and not repeat offenders.
Mobile Sunday school mission
Most children in our poor areas and housing projects do not get the opportunity to attend Sunday school so we decided to bring it to them! Our goal is to reach out to the needy children in our community by teaching them Bible stories, feeding them, playing games, and most importantly showing them the love of Jesus in action.
