Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the mass of lost souls. (Matthew 9:35-36;14:14;15:32)
Compassion is love in action.
Together, we are advancing the gospel and building the Kingdom of God through love and compassion to impact our city and the nations.
Kingdom Project, is a grassroots organization, reaching out to the hurting and lonely in our society – being the hands and feet of Jesus by offering real help. We believe that ministering out of heartfelt compassion is foundational in bringing true transformation to individuals and communities. It is proven that when individuals, churches, businesses, and leaders reach out to help others in need, they come alive in the process. Generosity is contagious! Each person that is helped also becomes a tangible manifestation of God’s love and hope proclaimed to our community. “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.” (Is.61:4)
Kingdom Project strives to be a tangible expression of God’s love through acts of compassion, and sharing the Good News of Jesus though word and deed. While various types of effective compassion are endless here are a few examples of outreaches we offer in our community:
Weekly street outreach in the French Quarter
Each week we have a team of volunteers that go out to the streets of New Orleans. We bring food, water, snacks, socks, and clothing to the needy and homeless. We offer them prayer, a listening ear, and love. Through this simple act of being the gospel in action we have seen lives transformed, bodies healed, and homeless men and women reunited to their families and society.
Nursing home visits
There is nothing as sweet, as seeing the smile on the face of the elderly when we come to visit! We put together goodie bags for them (Crossword puzzles are a big hit), and we go room to room and deliver their goodie bag, visit with them , and offer prayer and encouragement to them.
No life is beyond the reach of God’s power! We are reaching out to men and women behind bars with the gospel to transform lives, so that once released from prison they will be disciples of Jesus and not repeat offenders.
Mobile Sunday school mission
Most children in our poor areas and housing projects do not get the opportunity to attend Sunday school so we decided to bring it to them! Our goal is to reach out to the needy children in our community by teaching them Bible stories, feeding them, playing games, and most importantly showing them the love of Jesus in action.
